Winter is a great time for growers to assess the previous season and develop a holistic “2020 vision” for next year’s fields, beds and planting spaces.
So, to keep it both fun and informative, this month’s meeting features permaculture specialist and longtime BFA supporter Bridget O’Brien sharing her Adapt permaculture game and problem-solving tool. The game Bridget developed is both an education in permaculture practice and a practical approach to solving specific problems – so bring us your biggest operational issues and we’ll give it a whirl!
Bridget has traveled the world learning from and collaborating with some of the biggest names in permaculture and sharing her vision for a regenerative and sustainable model for food and society.
In addition, it’s been a big year for the SE Michigan BFA Discussion Group, starting with multiple speaking events led by the BFA’s Dan Kittredge, followed by a strong series of offerings featuring farm tours and lab visits. Join us to discuss how the growing season went, hear about resources members are finding helpful, and gather ideas and ways to collaborate for next year.
We’ll have some nourishing light finger foods as a potluck, or just come and nibble.
