Setting up your Bionutrient Meter: Step by step

To properly get started with your device, we encourage you to watch the video tutorial playlist below  as you complete each step of the setup process!

Created by Our Sci, our partner in developing the Bionutrient Meter, this is video 1 of 5 in the "Getting Started" tutorial, beginning with the unboxing of the Bionutrient Meter. Click the 1/5 icon in the top right corner of the frame to view the full playlist. Videos will automatically play in order if you allow them to keep running.

First Steps

What Android device are you using?

The BFA Android tablet ships with the pre-installed apps, so the 2 sets of directions below differ accordingly.
Are you using your own Android, or did you get an Android tablet from us?

Using the BFA Android tablet (with pre-installed apps)

  1. Connect your Android device to your wifi network.
  2. Open the Bionutrient App that is pre-installed on your device, and create an account.
  3. Once logged in, search for the Device Calibration survey.
    • Tutorial: Calibrate Your Device
You must run this before running any other scans.
    • Before running your first measurement, you will need to connect your Bionutrient Meter to your Android device via Bluetooth. This can be done within the SurveyStack Kit App for hardware integration (also pre-installed).
    • Note: this survey is the isolated calibration question set. If you make your own survey later, you can embed the calibration process within the survey.
  4. After calibration, you can start collecting data. Choose a survey in the Bionutrient App:
    • Nutrient Density Estimate
This is currently our only survey that uses models we've developed to give immediate feedback.
    • Or, create your own!
We're always happy to help you design a survey that fits your use case, just reach out.
  5. Get predictions, learn and share!

Using your own Android device (with no pre-installations)

  1. Go to bionutrient.surveystack.io in Google Chrome.
  2. Create an account for yourself, and add the app to your homescreen.
  3. Go to the Google PlayStore and install the SurveyStack Kit App.
  4. Open SurveyStack Kit App and connect your Bionutrient Meter over Bluetooth in the Devices tab.
  5. Open the Bionutrient App and log into the account you just created if you are not already logged in.
  6. Search for the Device Calibration survey.
    • Tutorial: Calibrate Your Device
You must run this before running any other scans.
    • Note: this survey is the isolated calibration question set. If you make your own survey later, you can embed the calibration process within the survey.
  7. After calibration, you can start collecting data. Choose a survey in the Bionutrient App:
